Changes to my study programme
Hello to every single member of my fans around the globe, I'm your host Matías Osorio and on today's blog I'm going to write about some changes I would like to apply to my study programme to make it better.
I think it would be cool if the programme for graphics designer and for industrial designers would have more classes that you can relate between the others classes you take, for example: Typography is a great class about history about typography and printing with this system, but there's no class about printing as whole unit, it would be very helpful to have a class about printing history and methods besides the ones that we can learn here at the school like screen printing or letterpress.
In my class "Proyecto IV" we had to find a local business that has some history so we can make a project out of the history of this business, since I like typography I thought about searching about a business that does printing and remembered a printing system called Linotype and found one printing press that uses this machine and I was really impressed with this printing technique that in my regular classes never heard of, so it would be really helpful I think to have more classes about printing and printing systems.
Besides printing I think the programme needs to have classes where you can specialize even more because there's some programs like Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign where you can really do lots of stuff but there's not enough time through the career to cover it all so you end up with the basics and if you want to learn more you'll have to learn by yourself and that's a bummer, because we don't have bad teachers, there's some teachers that are really pros in these programs that I mentioned before, so I think it would be great to share their knowledge to the studens who wants to learn more about a specific program.
I think the progamme is working just fine but there's lot of room to improve during the time that we're studying, so I hope we can achieve the best programme so the students can learn and be the greatest designers in their own field.
That's all for today's blog, thanks you for reading, c u on my next blog :-)!
